(Old Post) Messages to the World…

March 25, 2007 lfaith921

Being told to walk around dropping little notes in random places was a little odd to me.  It was also something I never thought of doing… it’s actually a productive thing!

So where did I decide to post?  I went to the local Rite Aid by my house in Bay Ridge.  It was late, so not many people were there, which was good because I was extremely nervous about what I was about to do. I walked through pharmacy section and headed straight for the condoms…

1- Having a baby cost a lot of money.

2- Don’t forget these!

3- Use me!

4- AIDS kills.

5- Herpes isn’t flattering.

6- Think about it.

7- Be responsible.

8- Safe sex is the best sex.

Posting these was a huge adrenaline rush.  I kept looking around to make sure no one was around, but I had a couple of run-ins with a few young guys.  I was happy to see they were heading in the right direction.  They didn’t see me post the notes, but they saw me standing around the area.  One guy laughed at the note “Herpes isn’t flattering”.  I didn’t care, I was pleased with myself.

That day I wondered… why didn’t I think about doing something like this before?  Don’t I want my opinions, my words, my thoughts heard even if they don’t know who I am?  Anyway, it was a really great feeling!

Glad you enjoyed it and seemed to get something out of it.
